This amazingly large and rich specimen of chrysocolla came from an old European collection of American classics that was assembled by the 1960s and was being sold off at the Munich show 2008. It is just astonishing for its size: this is 4 cm thick of solid chrysocolla. You can clearly see the deposition bands along the sides, alternating from light cream color to a deep blue-green. There is very little matrix here - it is pretty much all chrysocolla.
